Murray Mallee Roadside Vegetation Survey
The Murray Mallee Roadside Vegetation Survey was conducted by EBS along 600km of road within the District Council of Loxton-Waikerie. The survey was conducted to record vegetation associations (native and exotic) remaining on roadside verges and to recommend appropriate works activities and management strategies within these areas.
A major field survey was completed over a three week period and the information collected was used to determine vegetation associations and to provide a category of overall significance to each section of roadside. This information was then used to generate maps for the client to identify significant ecological regions.
Following completion of the survey and associated reports, two workshops were delivered by EBS detailing the survey methodology used and the results collected. The workshops then went on to focus on effective environmental management of future road construction and maintenance projects with an emphasis on vegetation management.
